As a continuation of 'Van Holland Design' in Amsterdam, Studio RMA was established in the USA by Robert Mechielsen in 1988. Designs for renowned Southern California restaurants brought immediate public recognition.
A brief association with the movie industry helped lead Mechielsen to his pioneering understanding of the revolutionary potential for applying 3-D visualization for the construction industry.
In 2000, the Studio enlarged its scope to encompass bio-mimicry, carbon-neutral design and self-sustaining buildings. It expanded its capabilities further into computerized energy-gain modeling and composite concrete structural design. Studio RMA is now in the forefront of carbon neutral design.
